Meet Keith and Hazel - Low Raisgill Owners

Although new to this beautiful and unspoilt area of the Yorkshire Dales, we have spent much of our working lives meeting and living amongst people who live in remote and rural environments. This has taken us to much of Asia, bringing our family up in Nepal for 11 years, residing in China for 5 yrs, and visiting countries close to our hearts - Bangladesh, Mongolia, Singapore, Laos, India, Cambodia & Vietnam.

In March 2015 we purchased Low Raisgill and began to work on our long held dream of opening a bed and breakfast in our own home.  We enjoyed working on and now living in this lovely historic building.  It has always been our aim to respect and retain the traditional features alongside providing excellent facilities. We welcomed our first guests in the spring of 2016.

Alongside running a business in the Dales, we are also doing our best to ensure that our impact on the environment is as limited as possible.  Our heating and hot water is now provided by biomass boiler.  Green waste and other bio-degradeable material is composted and the hens take care of any appropriate food waste.  All of our white towels are "eco towels" which take 15% less time to dry.  They are air-dried without the use of a tumble dryer. The house is now entirely double-glazed and the light bulbs are all LEDs.

We are really enjoying  living in this remote dale and being a part of the small rural community of Upper Wharfedale.  Being travellers ourselves, we understand what it is like to be away from home and wish to offer our guests a memorable welcome and stay.
